Transformation Texts — Book of the Dead 76–88
Ancient Record
A concentrated sequence of forms
Modern scholarship groups Spells 76–88 as transformation or form-assumption spells. Spell 76 concerns taking any desired form; the following spells name specific divine, animal, avian, floral, and spiritual forms.
Scholarly Reading
Funerary efficacy, movement, and identity
These are not modern manifestation instructions. Their setting is the afterlife, where the deceased sought movement, protection, effectiveness, and participation in divine and cosmic orders. Spell numbers and English titles are modern scholarly tools, and wording varies by manuscript and translation.
PSP Correspondence
Transformation → identity → capacity
The ancient texts repeatedly move from taking a form toward speaking and acting from the capacities associated with it. PSP does not turn that into a claim that the spells teach our method.
For PSP, these texts raise a question of continuity: eternal energy is not static. It transforms, expands, embodies, and may carry purpose forward through forms we do not yet fully understand. That is our correspondence, not the ancient text’s stated doctrine.
They raise a living question: when does a state stop being something you practice and become the identity from which action occurs naturally?
